Clara Lacy has a BA Hons in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art and has worked as an Illustrator and Designer both in London and New York. Working with titles including Bloomberg, Port magazine, Highsnobiety, i:D, Vice, Courier Paper and Art Wednesday and with brands such as Lee Cooper Jeans, GoodHood, Soulland, Folk, Sebastian Tarek, Hostem and has worked as a creative assistant for Punch Drunk on a number of projects.
Clara's work is inspired by her environment, in particular the natural world, rendering in pencil her fascination with the beauty and strangeness of biology and evolution. She gives expression to her individual 'take' on her world using the pared down elegance and simplicity of monochrome graphite. Her recent subjects have ranged from skateboard heroes to children's portraits to exotic and hedgerow birds and commissions have included restaurant menus, personal and commercial invitations, residencies at Town Hall Hotel, Bethnal Green, London and public space installations.
